In September 2018, this course was adopted by a full-service logistics company in Malta, who assigned it to all 90 staff members, at all levels of seniority.
The project was funded by EU Funds For Malta (European Structural & Investment Funds: Operational Program II)
The main results, three weeks after the launch of the programme:
71 out of 90 students (79%) have already completed the course, obtaining mastery scores on the two assessment activities
Some comments from users:
(Senior operations manager)
As an experienced practitioner, I did not expect to learn much – but I was surprised to find there were some important gaps in my understanding of the Incoterms rules
The course has led to many fruitful discussions about good practice within various departments
(Invoicing clerk.)
Very helpful to learn about a range of documents, including those that do not appear very often
(Senior manager)
The treatment of letters of credit was about right – we don’t need much detail, but helpful to know how they can interact with the Incoterms rules and use of transport documents
Training - a key differentiator
As it becomes harder to compete on the basis of schedules and pricing, the business relationships of logistics providers depend more than ever on a well-trained and knowledgeable workforce, who can help their customers avoid unnecessary costs and risks
